The Mission

Only a few steps away from its previous location on Melanchthonstraße in Bretten, Optik Leonhardt has opened its specialist store in brand-new premises. The team now provides expert advice to both long-standing and new customers across approximately 200 square meters.

Behind a completely renovated facade, customers are welcomed into an impressive and tastefully designed sales area. The interior design stands out with its harmonious color and material palette, complemented by soft, flowing spatial forms. A long, floor-to-ceiling graphic wall—divided into numerous individual presentation segments—serves as the main eye-catcher and guides customers through the entire store. In these individually illuminated compartments, the sunglasses are presented in a highly attractive and sophisticated manner.

The Challenge

The understated concrete-look flooring and the clean, white ceiling emphasize the exceptionally generous spatial dimensions. The checkout area, along with the adjacent lounge-style waiting area, integrates seamlessly into the store design. Here, customers are invited to relax and linger in cozy armchairs. The service furniture and the graphic wall feature a walnut finish, which pairs perfectly with the warm, forest-green wall segments.

The Solution

The store design is clear, yet it feels warm, natural, and exceptionally high-end. In contrast to the soft presentation of the sunglasses, the functional eyewear is showcased with brilliant clarity against white faux-leather wall segments—displayed on delicate fixtures that place the focus entirely on the frames’ design.

A generous column stands at the center of the space. Floor-to-ceiling, it provides a clearly structured and well-organized display for additional functional eyewear. This functional room divider lends the interior architecture an extravagant and ‘unique’ feel, while simultaneously segmenting the space and forming a transition to the quiet consultation areas. These areas are minimalist in design, finished predominantly in walnut. Comfortable white shell chairs at sleek, visually floating tabletops—positioned on a cozy, high-pile carpet—create a pleasant environment for conversation.

The rear of the premises now also offers dedicated space for examinations, including the optician’s refraction rooms. Here, the shopfitting and design take a tasteful turn: the precise technology of the equipment is set within a minimalist room against the backdrop of a warm, copper-toned wallpaper.

The entire interior fit-out thrives on and is revitalized by the harmonious world of colors and materials, as well as the soft, flowing shapes. The layout is equally invigorating, inviting customers on a journey of discovery through the various zones of the store.
